Hello everyone, and welcome to another episode of NOCvoiz. In today’s interview, we are featuring a Digital Marketer, Blogger, Influencer and an Entrepreneur. The founder of “Inspire to Thrive” & the author of “How to Tweet and Thrive on Twitter”. She has helped many businesses with their social media and content marketing. So, Let’s start the interview and find out more about her experiences and tips and tricks about digital marketing.
1: To Start with tell us How did you come up with the idea for “Inspire to Thrive” and how did it all start?
I came up with it as I was running a retail medical scrub website. People started asking me how I did things on Twitter, etc. I decide to start a blog thinking it was easier than answering emails and phone calls. LOL.
2: While we are on the topic of exploring work experience, tell us about the highlights of your inspirational journey towards becoming a digital marketing professional?
I was in the newspaper business for over 30 years, first as a graphic artist then as a marketing consultant/salesperson for both print and online.
3: With extensive experience and skills in digital and social media marketing, how do you see their importance for startups especially e-commerce startups?
There are so many skills needed for this today and it is continuous learning with changes happening at a rapid pace. I think the biggest skill is being resilient.
4: When you realize your campaign has a below-average conversion rate, how would you optimize it for improved performance?
There are many things you can look at, the graphics, the target audience, and the messaging. Do they all align up right or not? Make small changes each step of the way.
5: What is your best growth hacking strategy? How do you grow businesses and turn them into profitable companies in a short time?
Consistent marketing, letting people know you are in business. Many people stop marketing when things are either very busy or slow. You have to be consistent with your marketing. You can change the messaging but you must advertise your business to stay in business.
6: Digital and social media marketing is already doing wonders. How do you see social media marketing in future? In your opinion, what would be the trends in social media next year?
I think digital marketing may take over social media as it’s becoming more fragmented. So much is changing rapidly it is hard to say. Just yesterday Elon Musk purchased the most shares of Twitter, he could take it over and change the network. (I believe for the better!)
7: What makes a person an “influencer”? Is there a process anybody could follow or it is just luck?
You have to share great content, do it consistently, share other’s content, and make people feel good about themselves. And of course, engagement is another factor too. People want to be able to engage with an influencer. You don’t want to be so big you cannot engage with others. (That won’t make them feel good about themselves!)
